Description
English: This poster was issued during the Second World War by the National Savings Committee and targets Britain’s female

wartime workforce. It reflects the financial independence and purchasing power of young British women, brought about by wartime employment and promises a post war consumer paradise of fashion, travel and tourism. Themes very much influenced by American commercial advertising.
whole: the main image is positioned in the lower right, with five smaller images placed in the upper quarter and down the left edge. The title is separate and located in the centre right, in red and in blue. All set against a white background. image: a portrait-length depiction of a young woman, seen in profile from behind, looking up and to her left. She looks towards the five other images, each of which shows the same woman engaging in a different leisure activity. She is shown lying on a beach while reading a book; walking beside an Alpine lake with mountain peaks in the background; picking flowers in the garden of a rural cottage; fashionably dressed in a suit and hat, looking at an evening gown displayed in the window of a clothes shop; and wearing an evening gown and holding a cocktail glass at a party, talking to a seated man. text: Dreams - War savings will bring them to life Lowen W.F.P. 286. This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
