Description
English: Copper alloy traders token of postmedieval date (produced AD 1669). The token relates to Coventry, as its obverse bears the city's 'Elephant and Castle' arms, and the reverse the legend ' A Coventry Halfe Penny 1669'.

These tokens were issued by overseers of the poor, with the profits ostensibly used to help in their work with orphans.
