There is a uniform bodyflow directed ventrally and caudally, and a uniform limbdistribution having a ventral and post-axial trend. Thereare no hair reversals upon the limbs, and no whorls orpartings upon the body. Hair is continued to the extremity of the ungual phalanxof both fingers and toes; the heels are hairy. The hair when first uniformly distributed over the body isalmost black in colour; but when the young leaves the pouch thedorsal surface is black-brown and the ventral parts bright-tan. AH the remaining papillae and their accom-panying vibriscae are well developed at the 65 mm. stage. 365 Facial Vibriscae.—Of the buccal set, the naso-labial ormystacial vibriscae are arranged in 5 rows (see fig. 3, A),The superior row contains 2, the next 4, the next 6, thenext 7, and the lowest, or labial, 4, papillae, from each ofwhich a long, backwardly-directed bristle springs. The mental or sub-mental set (E) con-sists of a series offar smaller papil-*S ^ v<—^\ lae, which give I ^^^kS^. ^^x r*s€ ^° s^ender, ^--^<fejx —^^O^S^s^ x anc* comparatively short, vibriscae.The interramal (B) is a largepapilla from which3 or 4 elongatedand stout vibriscaetake origin.
