A pleas-ant city, in truth, with a touch of salt in its air. Geographically, the city occupies a site at the head of naviga-tion on Narragansett Bay (the upper ten miles being known asProvidence River). The shores of the bay, dotted on both sideswith summer resorts, club houses and cottages, are all within easyreach of the city by railroad, trolley and steamer.
