Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod Canal, and Thereabouts. Summer Life on Buzzards Bay On to Onset! At the waiting station in New Bedford we boardan Onset car. And away we go, over the long low bridge, with a good view of the plucky little Fort Phoenix, and intothe elm-shaded streets of the happy village of Fairhaven (Tab-itha Inn). This pretty village is the beneficiary of many price-less gifts from the late Henry H. Rogers, who gave a highschool, good inn, good roads, memorial church, library and townhall. Leaving, the eye soon views the wide expanse of BuzzardsBay, an inland sea of palest blue. Far out, the Elizabeth Is-lands shimmer under the sun. We cross the Mattapoisett River, and come into red-roofed Mattapoisett, place of rest. Thegaiety of the summer life here centers in the pretty Casino, with its dances, tennis and golf matches. Great fishing here, and good canoeing up the river. -cdnts—M.=minutes.—Figures, leaving times past hour 95
