Notes Bulgarian Trumpet, WW2 "The trumpet was captured just outside Constantinople (Adrianople, 1915.) in 1919 when the Bulgarians and Turks gave up and I carried this Trumpet right to the time I was discharged from the army." (L-Cpl CA Wright of the 7th Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry). Donor enlisted in Oxford Varsity Battalion in 1914 as a bugler boy (7th or 71st . Battalion of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. "In 1919 when the Bulgarians retired I caught up with the Bulgarians and saw one of the soldiers carrying this trumpet when I secured it and brought it home, which for a Boy Bugler to snatch this trumpet was the best souvenir I could wish for. This trumpet has the Bulgarian crest on the bell of this which is a ramping (rampant) Lion with the crown which to my way of thinking was making the instrument unique."
