Description
English: Photo by: TTZ (about 2006)

Short-Rotation-Plantations (SRP) are a new approach for the cultivation of energy crops and reusing domestic wastewater. Energy crops are irrigated and fertilised with domestic wastewater in order to benefit from the nutrients contained in the wastewater and to enhance biomass growth. The name SRP refers to plant species which are harvested after short periods (usually between 2-8 years). Their cultivation intensity, their high nutrient uptake and the frequent harvest require irrigation and fertilisation.
