English: U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Gary Lain, a Raven master trainer, with the 218th Leadership Regiment, South Carolina Army National Guard, installs a battery in an RQ-11B Raven prior to an instruction flight at McCrady Training Center, in Eastover, S.C., Nov. 21, 2013. The Raven is a small, unmanned aerial system (UAS), that has a wingspan of almost five feet and weighs nearly four pounds that can fly approximately 60 to 90 minutes on a single charge, and is equipped with two video cameras that are capable of giving units on the ground valuable overhead reconnaissance on the battlefield. |
