Description
English: U.S. Army engine mechanics Spc. Nicolas Riley (left) and Private First Class Thomas Casalenuovo maintain a UH-60L Blackhawk helicopter assigned to their regiment, Nov. 4, 1998. The two mechanics serve in Delta Company, 2nd Infantry Division, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment (2-2-2). The company is known as the Delta Dawgs because they are the backbone of Army Aviation. Three platoons composed of 91 personnel serve in the Delta Dawgs and provide around the clock maintenance support for the aviatorsand the 42 UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters of the Regiment. The 2-2-2 whose motto is the "Wild Cards" is housed at Camp Stanley, Uijongbu, Republic of Korea (ROK) and is the only Blackhawk flying regiment north of Seoul. Delta Company Commander Capt. Michael Blomquist sees the U.S. Soldiers stationed in the ROK as ambassadors. He said, "We play an important part in maintaining peace and democracy here in the Republic of Korea."
