Description
English: Lt. j.g. Travis Russell, sticks his head out the window of the Coast Guard Cutter Alder, a 225-foot Seagoing Buoy Tender, homeported in Duluth, Minn., for a better view as the cutter enters the Soo Locks on the St. Marys River, Dec. 12, 2012. The Alder operates in the 9th Coast Guard District, which covers all of the Great Lakes and its primary missions are aids to navigation, ice breaking, law enforcement, and search and rescue.
