Joseph Gay, an Alabama National Guard explosive ordnance disposal technician serving in Kosovo with Multinational Battle Group-East, accepts the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge from German Col. Hans-Jürgen Freiherr von Keyserlingk, commander for the German contingent in Kosovo, Dec. 29, 2015, at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. In order to earn the badge, Soldiers completed a 100-meter swim while wearing their full duty uniform, a ruck march, and other events testing their marksmanship and physical fitness.
