Porträt der französischen Gräfin Trogoff, einer Gesellschaftsdame der Herzogin Anna Dorothea von Kurlands. Trogoff ist als Krebs mit Porträtkopf dargestellt. Neben dem Titel "Ctsse. Trogoff." und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen und einem kleinen "K" versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter Titel/Namen versehen [Bildunterschrift] Die Krebse immer rückwärts gehn/ Das Kartenspiel man muss verstehn.Biografisches Die Gräfin Trogoff war eine Gesellschaftsdame der Herzogin Dorothea von Kurland und gehörte somit zum näheren Umfeld der Salonnière. Die Französin und ihr Mann Graf Trogoff kamen aus der Basse-Bretagne und mussten ihre Heimat aus politischen Gründen verlassen. Der Graf stellte sich in österreichische Dienste und kehrte erst nach der Wiedereinsetzung der Bourbonen nach Frankreich zurück.1 Seine Frau, die als ausgezeichnete Kartenspielerin bekannt war, blieb in der Gesellschaft Wilhelmine von Sagans. 2 „Bei der Herzogin lebte seit vielen Jahren eine alte Französin, vielleicht war sie nicht alt, aber sie wurde immer so betrachtet.“ (Emilie von Binzer, Drei Sommer in Löbichau, S. 81)3 1 Lepsius, Bernhard (Hrsg.): Lili Parthey.
