At noon I took a large branchof an Apple-tree, (Fig. 22.) and cementedup the tranfverfe cut, at the great end x> andtyed a wet bladder over it : I then cut offthe main top branch at b 5 where it was finch diameter, and fet it thus inverted intothe bottle oi water b.
