Here the force of the rifing fap in the mor-ning is plainly owing to the energy of theroot and ftcm. In another like mercurialgage, (fixed near the bottom of a Vine whichrun 20 feet high) the mercury was raifed bythe force of the fap 38 inches equal to 45feet -) 5 inches.-J- f height of water.
