English: 070122-N-LM405-021- Pacific Ocean (Jan. 22, 2007)- A view from inside an MCU-2P gas mask as Damage Controlman 2nd Class Josh Maxwell performs proper seal checks during Chemical Biological Radiological Warfare gear issue in the hangar bay aboard the Nimitz- class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis is conducting carrier qualifications (CQ) off the coast of Southern California prior to steaming west to bolster security in U.S. Central Command area of operations. Stennis and its strike group will operate with the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to support Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Horn of Africa and maritime security operations.
