VILLAS AND COTTAGES. 239 DESIGN No. 20. (D. & V.) VILLA RESIDENCE WITH CURVED ROOF. This design was prepared for an agreeable site Inthe vicinity of Newburgh. The accommodation pro-posed consists of a recessed porch opening on to a halleighteen feet square, on one side of which is a hand-some morning-room isolated from the other apart-ments. There is also a drawing-room, a library, and adining-room, so arranged as to form a suite of threeprincipal rooms, all connected together by doors, butat the same time furnished with separate entrancesfrom the main hall. These three rooms face south,which is the pleasantest aspect in the Highlands ; andas they command in this direction a remarkably fineview over the Hudson, which adds much to the valueof the site, each is provided with a large bay and win-dow seat, placed so as to overlook the river.
