Title
Wall sherd of Samian ware vessel, possibly Dragendorff 37
Description
English: A wall fragment of an early Roman Samian ware vessel dating from the 2nd century AD. The fragment is quite worn, but the decoration on the outside is still visible: some of the ovolo band remains towards the top of the sherd and below, the remains of a larger circle and a smaller in the corner. The decoration resembles Samian ware pottery from the Lezous area of Central Gaul (modern France) of c. AD135. The fragment was very likely part of a Dragendorff 37 form vessel.
