The other, on the right, is the portrait ofPope Gregory IX, once set up in the facade of the samechurch. They were given to Lotario Conti as familyrelics, the first by Clement VIII in the year 1596, theother by Paul V in 1605. The last event to be chronicled in connection with theVilla Catena is the visit paid to it in the spring of 1723by the last pope of the Conti family, Innocent XIII.
