Description
English: Title: Warren Gamaliel Harding; speaking to joint session of Congress; insert photo of telegraph operator transmitting speech for 1st time

Notes: Three microphones are visible, may actually be for early radio broadcast. Conflicting secondary sources give first radio broadcast of US President as May or June in 1922; period sources should be consulted. The presence of microphones in the US Capitol was not yet usual, other secondary sources place the first amplification in the halls as somewhat later in the year.

Abstract/medium: 1 photographic print.
