He blinked and blinked ashe snuffed its odorous promises, for he lovedcabbage dearly. But then he had been to thebarnyard the night before after a few paltryclover-tops, and no wise rabbit would go twonights running to the same place. Therefore he did the wise thing. He movedacross where he could not smell the cabbage andmade his supper of a bundle of hay that hadbeen blown from the stack.
