M The past summer has been an uneventfulone at the Aquarium, Although the exhibitshave been as large and varied as usual, andthe attendance a little in excess of the aver-age, there is nothing striking to record. Per-haps normal, healthy conditions should beregarded as satisfactory, when the limitationsof growth imposed by a building of limitedcapacity are taken into consideration. TheAquarium may vary its exhibits to some ex-tent, but can not possibly increase them inthe present building. Changes were madein the exhibits from time to time. Amongthe species new to our collection or exhibitedat rare intervals, may be mentioned the Am-azon turtles and the Florida and Bermudafishes illustrated in this Bulletin. Early in October additions were made tothe collection of tropical fishes, Mr. ChapmanGrant having obtained at Key West 175specimens representing 35 species. Attendance.—The attendance at the Aqua-rium from January 1st to October 1st was1,710,287. ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY BULLETIN 1055
