Photo Depicts Oysters Rockefeller

edit

An editor on English Wikipedia pointed out ["22:27, April 28, 2010 24.131.78.178 (The image is oysters Rockefeller, not oysters en brochette")] that this photo, which I had linked to the WP article when I found it, actually depicts Oysters Rockefeller, not Oysters en brochette. From the dish descriptions, I see that this assertion is correct. For example, oysters en brochette is described as: "Raw oysters are skewered, alternating with pieces of partially cooked bacon. The entire dish is then breaded (usually with corn flour) and then either deep fried or sautéed. The traditional presentation is on triangles of toast with the skewer removed and topped with a Meuniere sauce." On the other hand, Oysters Rockefeller is described as: "Oysters Rockefeller consists of oysters on the half-shell that have been topped with various other ingredients (often parsley and other green herbs, a rich butter sauce and bread crumbs) and are then baked or broiled." This dish, though labeled on Flickr as "Oysters in brochete," looks more like the lattter than the former. The clincher is an image on this blog (scroll down or search the term "oysters en brochette" to see it) which is stated to be from the same restaurant (Galatoire's) and which depicts a dish lookling quite different from the subject of our photo here in Commons. If I happen to go to New Orleans, I'll be sure to visit the restaurant to get a free image which I can post to replace this one, but my business is not likely to take me there soon. I should have fact-checked the Flickr photo, but I was lulled into complacent acceptance of the Flickr description as I have found almost all of them to be quite accurate. More fool I! Since this image has been used, and since there are two other images for Oysters Rockfeller on commons, perhaps this could ne renamed something like "Oysters Rockefeller3.jpg?" I have altered the decription to reflect the image actually depicting Oysters Rockefeller. Geoff Who, me? 16:59, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

No objection to renaming. I will do so per above if there are no objections or better names proposed. -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:03, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Renamed "Oysters Rockefeller at Galatoires". -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:12, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion request

Delete, incorrect label from Flickr. Depicts Oysters Rockefeller, not en brochette. There already are two better 'Oysters Rockefeller' files on Commons -- User:Glane23

Are you sure about that? The dish in the other 2 images looks somewhat different. Anyway, it can't be deleted as it is still in use. --Túrelio (talk) 14:37, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
How about renaming as Oysters Rockefeller3.jpg (or something like that)? Geoff Who, me? 16:40, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Decline speedy deletion. If description is inaccurate it can be corrected; if the name is incorrect the file can be renamed. User {{Rename}} to propose a better name. Discussion moved from file page to talk page. -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:02, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Return to the file "Oysters Rockefeller at Galatoires.jpg".
