The plant shown in the photo might be a member of the Acokanthera genus - maybe Acokanthera oblongifolia - instead of Persea indica. The plants have different inflorescences, but are very similar when they are in fruit. I have taken te picture nine years ago in La Palma, Canary Islands, where Persea indica (Lauraceae) is endemic. I do not know whether Acokanthera oblongifolia (Apocynaceae), a native of the Southern part of Africa, is introduced in La Palma. The advice of a specialist of the flora of the Canary Islands would be appreciated for dealing with the issue. If anyone can confirm it, please leave a message here. --Réginald alias Meneerke bloem (To reply) 07:33, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
