Northwest Airlines Boeing 757-200 Missing

Image:Northwest Airlines Boeing 757-200.jpg is missing and shows on the mosaic quite visibly. The original image is at [1]. Could we replace it with one from Wikimedia logo mosaic/Colours gallery/Blue? --Midnightcomm 02:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images

There is a duplicate image in the current mosaic.

Image:Rylov Sunset 1917.jpg slightly too tall?

I think this image might be making a small gap in one of the red rows. (it is 1681 × 1300 which scales to 775 × 599 which is a bit short) It's a great image! Maybe a resized canvas with white sides would get to the right 4x3 form factor? ++Lar: t/c 12:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Broken - and I can't fix it!

The mosaic is broken in half a dozen places - nobody has fixed it in about a month! Yet it's locked to prevent me from fixing it.

If you're going to lock a page so completely - you really do need people here ready to repair it at a moment's notice.

Right now, the protection is doing more harm than good - it's keeping the thing broken when it could be working! Why isn't an sprotect considered sufficient? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SteveBaker (talk • contribs) at 19:43, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I have changed to sprotect. Thank you for offering to find replacement images for the missing ones, much appreciated. It is interesting how entropy sets in on things, isn't it? We are losing about 2 images a month on average I think. (more recently than earlier on, so I hope the trend isn't increasing!) ++Lar: t/c 23:52, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Animations

Can we replace animations with something static? We can have an animated mosaic and a non-animated one separately but this way is far too distracting. -- Cat ^ちぃ？ 19:12, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Logo mosaic

What happened

File:Samuel Hays marker.jpg was on the mosaic. It seems to have been replaced by File:Wildrose2Blütenstandweiß2 ArM.jpg with this edit.

Tight layout

I've been attempting to rescue this mosaic from years of neglect. I've made some improvements (replacing some images that were cropped or rotated, or other images that aren't up to modern quality standards) but I can't seem to get the table to display without blank lines between each row. Compare the current version to File:WikimediaMosaicCapture.png. I can't trace down what happened to change how the table displays, or when it happened; it seems to go all the way back in the history of the page, which makes me wonder if it was a software change.
