The space between Français and : was a little bit silly, it has not looked homogeneous.--Borheinsieg 13:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't really appreciate French typography to be treated as "silly". I'm sure it will do it. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 20:11, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think it would be better not to have this space, because it looks very wrong – next to all other languages. I hope there are other people who think so.--Borheinsieg 20:44, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Which is very wrong for a French-speaking user, is not to see a space between Français and :.
And in fact there are many languages where a space is necessary before a :. International typography does not exist, and I guess it's not a mission of Wikimedia Commons to define what it should be (and even if: why wouldn't we add a space for each language?). Peut-être tu as raison. Je pensais qu'il est plus importante qu'il est uniforme que la typographie française. Mais je vais laisser l'espace.--Borheinsieg 21:10, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Danke; Franzosen magen gern Leerschritten: sie nutzen sie überall. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 21:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Entschuldigung wegen der Mühe. Wenn es für Franzosen wirklich so falsch aussieht, gebe ich dir natürlich Recht. Gruß--Borheinsieg 12:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Kein Problem! Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 13:17, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

{{Edit request}} Please remove the space between the language name and colon. —Justin (koavf)TCM 21:32, 1 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

If I'm remembering my French correctly, Koavf, this is actually a rule in French as stated above. There has to be a space before any two parted punctuation (; : ! ?). I could of course be misremembering as it has been quite a long time since I took French grammar (I'm much more proficient in reading it). I'd like to defer to Yann on this just to double check. --Majora (talk) 02:54, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's right. A space is needed before these punctuations. Regards, Yann (talk) 04:45, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
In that case,  Not done. --Majora (talk) 20:23, 2 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
