Just because I am Russian does not mean I am wrong about copyright.

My allegedly problematic behavior:

  • Having the audacity to say that Klimblim photos are not allowed on Commons (they are not!), and not realizing other editors would not even attempt to find her website with her copyright statement at the time before accusing me of making a false deletion request.
  • Having the audacity to say that a photo gallery with a fair-use photo in the photo of the gallery is a FoP violation in a country with no FoP on 2D works.
  • Thinking that an official government website explicitly saying that commercial use and derivatives are prohibited on a photo is a legitimate reason for a deletion discussion in a world where prolific Flickrwashing destroys the integrity of Commons.
  • Wrongly assuming other people would be able to read the caption on a photo at the source website saying exactly who the photographer was.
  • Noticing that a person who claimed a World War II photo was their sole own work was a being a liar.
  • Knowing that former states of the Soviet Union have retroactive copyright laws.
  • Saying that Ukraine and Russia do not have Freedom of Panorama on 2D image displays and 3D art as shown on the official map on FoP status by country.
  • Saying that NC licenses are not allowed on Commons.

I don’t make the rules or copyright laws. If you don’t like them, write a letter to Jimmy Wales or the head of state of the country whose copyright laws you don’t like.
