Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Bonjour, non, je ne pense pas, ça remonte à 2014 et les retrouver prendra plus de temps que d'aller le photographier sur place. Je me déplace dans Paris demain et je ne serai justement pas loin de ce secteur, je peux donc passer par là. Comme il doit faire beau ça sera facile. Dis moi ce qui t'intéresses aussi à par cette vue. Bien cordialement. -

Ok, le bas relief se trouve sur l'entrée à gauche, j'y vais cette après-midi. On peut noter que le sculpteur n'était pas trop au courant à l'époque car le gars représenté qui sculpte une vénus gravettienne ne devait vraisemblablement pas avoir les cheveux crépus et ressembler à un congolais ! - Siren-Com (talk) 11:49, 20 July 2021 (UTC) (PS : à droite en regardant la porte).Reply

Voilà la photo, j'en ai profité pour faire toute la frise, je mettrai d'autres photos plus tard. Concernant l'anecdote, je pense qu'une rédaction plus claire sera à voir, en insistant sur le fait que l'homme préhistorique représenté est complètement improbable, un immigré clandestin au paléolithique puisque la Vénus est bien située en France ! - Siren-Com (talk) 17:11, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
