User talk:Katepanomegas

Due to repeted vandalism and accusations against my account, I will no longer contribute on commons. No need to ask anything on this page, I will not answer. As much as you can, do not use my files, do not create derivatives from them.

Admins, please considere :

  • I will always support deletions request of files I have uploaded,
  • I DO NOT WANT the deleted files to be restored.

Your page has been protected, that really isn't an issue anymore. You shouldn't be discouraged by trolls. Please, do reconsider. The problem with the copyrighted images has been a setback, but don't forget that the rest of your work is still good. You might say you just copy illustrations, but you do that well. I can't even come close to the Holy Roman eagle you based on that woodcut. And, by not using your work at all, the community will lose a lot of series of coats of arms. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 09:39, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
That is my decision. I have been named a thief, I do not accept that. In my world, it is a matter of good education to respect other's decisions and not to do the exact opposite of what people ask. As asking to restore files when their author has explicitely said he didn't want them to be restored. If you want to recreate those files, create them for blank, not from my "stolen" work. They have been deleted, let them rest in peace. Katepanomegas (talk) 07:56, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
That is unreasonable. Reinventing the wheel is absurd. I have no intention to do tons of extra work, while there are files out there that, minus one element, are licensed under a free license. I do not consider your purposeful sabotaging of this project good education either, nor giving up, and I am not going to aid you in continuing all that drama for a minor incident. Am I, as an art historian, supposed to be happy that Botticelli threw a lot of his work into the bonfire of vanities? You have been called a thief by trolls, and what you are doing now is exactly what they want. Trolls seems to be a bit excessive, one troll actually, who didn't have the guts to do it on his own account. It is also I who alerted this to the moderation, and they clearly didn't agree with the troll. I'm sure you have been called a lot of things. We all have. Please, don't let the future of the project be decided by some troll. You've been called a thief, well, I call you an invaluable colleague. Your Belgian Coat of Arms was showed prominently in a Belgian television, if that cheers you up. Your work matters. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 09:37, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm not Botticelli. And no one has urged you to recreate those files.
My page has been repeatedly vandalised and had to be locked. I don't care if it was only one guy or a dozen. I have been called a thief, in spite of my good will and of having requested their removal as soon as I discovered there was an issue with those files. In application of §4.d. of the CC 3.0 licenses (moral rights preservation), I have the right to have my files removed once and for all for avoid further delicate bird-names. And I would like to be respected in that request, especially by people who pretend to considere me as "an invaluable colleague". Katepanomegas (talk) 23:56, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
First of all, you have stopped editing at all before the vandals appeared. You've just let your files get deleted, and I have waited patiently for you to restore them as you stated you would do. You didn't. I have had my back-ups for quite a while now, with replaced lions and other minor changes, enough to constitute a derivative. I have been asked when the heraldry of the Belgian monarchy would return. Secondly, the moral rights do not cover this at all, your reputation would only be hurt if the infringing lions reappear. Thirdly, if I edit those files and make a derivative of it, they will be under my name, and I will be called a thief, which will be solved easily by alerting a moderator like I did for you. I very much doubt that will happen, I have used those lions perhaps more than you have. And last of all, you insult me again and again. You're very generous with giving those, despite one directed to you being enough for all this drama. One wonders why I am wasting my time here. I can just go on and upload my derivatives. I could have done that for months, instead of patiently waiting and hoping you would actually do what you told you would do. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 09:59, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
Okay... so if I fully understand your point, I am "an invaluable colleague" when I shut up and produce files you can reuse, but when I take time to work or take care of my family, when I act responsibly, or worst, when I request a bit of understanding in order to protect myself, I am an insulting idiot. Interesting. Katepanomegas (talk) 00:38, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
No, you were an invaluable colleague when you didn't overreact and didn't take out your anger on people who supported you. I see no viable alternatives (as much as you can), and now I see no reason to honour your request at all. I leave this all to the moderation. At best, I can wait some longer for the fuss to die out, and I will wait in any case for the response of Fastily or some other moderator. And my main point of that request was to retrieve the sources, which would have at least saved me a lot of research. Perhaps I'll just forget to upload my derivatives at all, or someone else will. By all means, do leave if that is your decision, and you won't have to worry about any of this anymore. Lemmens, Tom (talk) 11:12, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I had to roll back the last edit - it was causing Category:Copyright violations to fill up with hundreds of files.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 02:15, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Checked : Katɵpanomeɡas, it's not the same "e", I think an troll create a very similar account to noise the real and great Katepanomegas! He copy the discussion page and all the user page but it's clearly a different personn. I don't know what you can make for this. Mathieu C. (talk) 07:13, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
I've indef blocked the account as a sock. I also deleted the user and talk pages and the revision of the image this sock did the overwrite on. INeverCry 07:48, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Your 2 recent edits

I just reverted your two posts here and on your userpage of the same message I've frequently reverted as vandalism over the past few months. I don't know why you posted this vandalism yourself, or if you're related to or in control of any of the vandal accounts, but your posts are unacceptable. This vandalism isn't a game. I've spent a decent ammount of time blocking and reverting these vandal accounts. If you repeat these edits, I'll have to block your account as well. INeverCry 05:07, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
