Photo challenge Black and White edit

Hello Neuroxic,
It was pointed out that it's a bit unclear when your pictures File:Hot air balloon flying over Canberra..png and File:Hot air balloon rising through the clouds 2.jpg from the Photo challenge Black and White were taken, as the metadata show 2009-03-27 as the recorded date, while you give the uploading day as the day the picture was taken. As the challenge is restricted to pictures taken in March, it would be great if you could check the recording date and remove the picture if necessary. As the challenges rely on the contributors' honesty, just tell me (e.g. by answering here) if the problem is simply a wrong camera date (but perhaps it's a good idea to adjust that for future pictures... ;->).

Hi Anna reg,
Normally I don't worry about time and date settings for devices, my camera included. It was only when I begun to consider uploading them to Commons did I realize the potential importance of the settings. That said, the disclaimer for the metadata "The timestamp is only as accurate as the clock in the camera and may be completely wrong." certainly applies to my photos.
On the morning of the photos I took a photo of the sunrise, so by examining the sunrise time of the place I was at back then and comparing them to the camera's internal clock, I was able to calibrate the actual time of the photos; this is what I included as the date taken. This was as tedious as it sounds, and I've learnt my lesson!
As per why I didn't adjust the recording date for future pictures... I didn't know how to it in photoshop! I guess this comes down to the fact that I don't have as much experience using the software as other people. Would it be possible for you to send through a link showing me how to adjust camera metadata?
Thanks, Neuroxic (talk) 01:04, 21 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hello Neuroxic,
then I guessed correctly (I removed some pictures that were taken too early from the contest). Sadly, I don't know how to change the camera date in the meta data myself - only that it's possible (I was thinking of changing the camera date to avoid wrong times in the future ;->). But perhaps this page contains more information?
Best wishes and sorry for the late answer, Anna reg (talk) 15:36, 26 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Thanks,
