QIC + ping

Just so you don't wonder why people don't reply sometimes: 'Pinging' doesn't work inside the QIC templates. For some obscure reason that template seems to cancel all attempts to ping anyone, and the comment may go unnoticed. If a file goes to CR, then things start to work again. I saw that you tried to 'ping' me several times on QIC, but if you have an urgent comment for someone there you have to leave a message on the user's talk page. cart-Talk 13:28, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

That is weird. I feel very certain that I have been pinged several times earlier at QIC without a candidate being moved to CR. Also the "Discuss" template used at CR is more or less a copy of the other templates, so I find it hard to understand if that template should be the determining thing for getting a ping or not. Unless, of course, it has to do with the template being included in a gallery, when a candidate is not in CR. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up cart. -- Slaunger (talk) 19:53, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Tools for images

There are so many undertones and aspects and possibilities in the image tool "galaxy" that it is almost impossible for me to fix an order. But I did make some campaign with relative success. Now, since I did the "cousins" of svwiki, last August, we can together also da-N user if you want. I can explain to you everything I know and you can inform them the way you prefer with a village pump message.

In my experience users from small language communities with a defined "national" background are very "proud" about their culture (I guess because historically they had to protect it more from big neighbors) so they really care more about how to learn this things. It's about taking care for heir heritage (their buildings, their villages) which is an aspects that resonates more. That's why in Italy I started with local users, they simply cared more to learn. The generic user even with wikidata knowledge had no interest in P18, but the local user with no strong background on wikidata and even few edits, wanted to know much more.

So on the VI talk i tried to stick to most simple information, basically trying to explain why some red dots on the map are not really "missing" but also why still collecting good picture of them is still a good thing. At the same time I opened a very technical discussion on wikidata. I pinged you there.

I am not an expert, I am someone who tries to push what a lot of users ask me they need. They needed that, so I dig in that direction.--Alexmar983 (talk) 05:48, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
