WLM images

Hi, you are uploading images using VicunaUploader. I see, that most of images (eg. this one) got wrong code because of application, there is [[Category:]][[Category: ]] in the end of upload text. I'm developer of Vicuna and I want to know what's wrong. Can you send me text you type in field "Categories" in Vicuna? Yarl ✉ 17:34, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Maybe the problem is the two semicolons in the category string or the blank after the last semicolon Cultural heritage monuments in Randersacker;;Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, DE-BY;Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013;Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Germany;Uploaded via Campaign:wlm-de-by; . --17:46, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I looked at the code generated by VicunaUploader. I think [[Category:]] is caused by ;; and [[Category: ]] by ;<blank>. --17:56, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I see you have 5500 files uploaded without {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2013}}. Tool configuration problem? Do you want that I try to add it by bot? Platonides (talk) 17:55, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

It's running now. I guess they were all for {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2013|de}}? The process followed by the bot is: it removes [[Category:]] and Category:!!! (only on some of your images, but I'm pretty sure none of them is related to the rock band), Category:Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 Category:Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Germany are removed (already added by the template) and {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2013|de}} is added. "Zum heißen Stein" in Aschaffenburg

Hallo Tilman2007, die häßliche Plane vorm ehemaligen Gasthof "Zum heißen Stein" in Aschaffenburg ist endlich verschwunden. Das Gebäude strahlt wieder in frischem Glanz. Auf deinem Foto hängt noch die Plane, die mich lange Zeit vom Fotografieren abhielt, davor. Ich habe nun ein aktuelles Foto ohne Plane hochgeladen. Findest du, dein Foto sollte auch mit Plane archiviert bleiben oder kann es nach deiner Meinung nun entfernt werden?--KaiBorgeest (talk) 11:42, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Ich habe es mir nochmal angeschaut, auf deinem Foto sieht man den Eingangsbereich besser und das ganze Gebäude ist dargstellt. Sollte also auf jeden Fall trotz dieser lästigen Plane bleiben. Somit hat sich meine Frage aus meiner Sicht erübrigt.--KaiBorgeest (talk) 11:47, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
