==Diplomatic missions in north macedonia== Hello sir, I'm sorry, but in fact there is no Norwegian embassy in Skopje but it is based in Belgrade. But please include in the photo of diplomatic missions the honorary consuls with a different color that Skopje is the headquarters of 48 diplomatic missions, of which 31 embassies and 17 honorary consuls. goodbye

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hello Aquintero82!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you. BotMultichillT (talk) 17:01, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Timorese diplomatic missions.PNG edit

Hello Aquintero! I reedited your update, because of several things: What is your source? The former map was showing the information from a Gouvernment webpage and later news articles about opening of new embassies. Your map doesn't show the embassies in Switzerland (Geneva), Kuba, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and South Korea. Anyhow, you changed the colours, which is not following the former colours anymore, which gave further informations, explained in several articles, too. Finally, the Honorary Consuls are missing, now. Greetings, --Patrick (talk) 18:02, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Maps for Visa edit

Hello Aquintero82,

I noticed that you are author of this "Visa policy of Paraguay" map. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Visa_policy_of_Paraguay.png) Could you please make also map for "Visa requirements for Paraguayan citizens"? (on Commons and Wikipedia .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Paraguayan_citizens). Paraguay has currently 119 countries visa-free or visa issued free on arrival. Map for 'Visa requirements' missing. Source of data: latest release of 'Henley visa restrictions index'.

Apart of Paraguay, there are several other states, for what one map or even both of them are missing. ('Visa policy map' and 'Visa requirements map'). It would be fine if you or anyone else who knows how to do it would be so kind to complete these maps for all countries.

Thank you in advance if you will make effort. --RobertFilipe (talk) 11:42, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Aquintero82,

Glad to see your update on this map but there's no separate Embassy of Argentina here in Qatar (as I live here and I already searched for it). Actually, the Embassy of Argentina in Abu Dhabi, UAE is accredited for Qatar. Here's the link of the official website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship which clearly indicates that.

Help for adding up a map indicating nicaragua and india edit

Hi, when you upload the map onto Wikimedia, save the map as: "India Nicaragua Locator" (without the quotation marks). When the map is saved, the file name will look like this: File:India Nicaragua Locator.png (assuming it's not a svg map). Then go to your article and remove from the top "filetype=svg" and you'll see your map automatically appear. Regards, Aquintero, (talk), 16:45, 17 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

You map does not make sense. I've looked at your source. Are the colors supposed to be non-resident embassies or honorary consulates? Neither which is mentioned in the article. Côte d'Ivoire at the 1981 North-South Summit in Cancun edit

Hello,

I see that you replaced mention of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny by Foreign Minister Siméon Aké in the caption of the 1981 North-South Summit Heads of State picture. Original caption (found here) mentions Boigny.

Do you have any source for that? If it is true, it is a very good find! Place Clichy 09:45, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Good job ! I had also tried to identify and link summit participants, however I guess I trusted a bit too much the Reagan Library caption. I also found another confirmation in this article (if you read French), which starts with "President Houphouët-Boigny Must Reduce Activities For Health Reasons. Contrary to what some observers have argued, the health reasons that were officially mentioned in Abidjan to explain the absence of President Houphouët-Boigny at the Cancun conference, while the Ivory Coast was one of the four countries designated by the OAU to represent Africa at these meetings, were not diplomatic reasons."
Also, your second link mentions that "Abdus Sattar, acting president of Bangladesh, is staying home for internal political reasons", while your first link lists "Foreign Minister Mohammad Shamsul Huq, Bangladesh" among the participants. Do you believe we should correct this as well? The low-res picture does not make people very identifiable from face alone. Place Clichy 22:45, 11 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
I can't really determine who the pictured representative of Bangladesh is. Article w:Abdus Sattar (president)#Presidency clearly mentions "internal political reasons" that could explain the President remaining home. Better resolution pictures are available here and here, but the third sitting character from the left does not clearly resemble Foreign Minister Muhammad Shamsul Huq, from his portraits here, here or here, or President Sattar. What do you think? Place Clichy 16:47, 12 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Update for the File:Canadian embassies map.svg edit

Hello.

In the File:Canadian embassies map.svg could you change the color for Iran (because Canada has cut of diplomatic relations with Iran) and paint it in pink, and remove Bosnia, Syria, Benin, Niger and Libya (because Canada closed its embassies in these countries)?. Could you add Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Iraq, Bolivia, Qatar, Rwanda and South Sudan (because Canada opened embassies in these countries)? I requested this because I don't know how to create and upload SVG files myself.

This file is linked to File:Canadian embassies map.png which you updated.

Thanks for uploading File:Mexico Uganda Locator.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan.png, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Hello, Aquintero82. If you do not mind, could you please create a bilateral map between Romania and Sri Lanka? I'm planning to create an article about their relations and you seem to be an active uploader of these maps. Thanks in advance! Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 19:02, 7 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Map of diplomatic missions edit

Hi, I was looking into updating the Kyrgyzstan diplomatic mission map, which you updated more than two years ago, and I was wondering if the map should include the additional accreditations that the embassy has. I mean, for example, the Kyrgyz embassy in Berlin is accredited not only to Germany but also to Poland, the Holy See, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. So, I understand that they should also be considered as diplomatic missions, right? --KajenCAT (talk) 00:06, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the maps reflect the physical presence a nation has in another country. Although the Kyrgyz embassy in Berlin is accredited to other nations, Kyrgyzstan does not have a physical diplomatic presence in those other countries. Their embassy simply has consular service jurisdiction accreditation. Cheers. Aquinter82 (talk), 26 February 2021, 20:01 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification. I think this aspect should be included in the map description to avoid future confusion. Regards, --KajenCAT (talk) 11:24, 27 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

The articles are about in Azerbaijan, and not that Azerbaijan has opened embassies in other countries. Also, the articles mentioned appointments ambassadors, but other then Chile, the article does not mention that the ambassadors are based in Baku. Ambassadors can be based in other countries and accredited to Azerbaijan as it appears the articles mention.Aquintero82, (talk), 19:55, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) edit

Please use SVG
Thank you for uploading some images! Did you know that Wikimedia Commons recommends the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format for certain types of images? Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. A lot of modern programs support SVG export. If you encountered problems or have questions, don't hesitate to ask me, a member of the Graphic Lab, or the Graphics village pump. Uploading images in SVG format isn't mandatory, but it would help. (To avoid any misunderstandings, please don't just put raster images into an SVG container as embedded raster.) Thanks, and happy editing!

Editing svg files edit

Hey,

thanks for keeping your thematic world maps up to date. Have you ever throught about uploading them as svg files? Editing svg files is pretty easy with the tool Inkscape. It's free to use. Additionally the readability is better as small countries and depedencies have circles.

This is the common blank world map to create works out of: File:BlankMap-World-Sovereign_Nations.svg

If you need dependencies like the ones in the Caribbean, just download and recolor this file: File:Countries_and_dependencies_in_which_Condor_operates.svg

Updates in Diplomatic missions files edit

Hello mister, can you please update File:Diplomatic missions in Indonesia.png ? Apparently, Angola and Rwanda have embassies in Jakarta as proven by their resident ambassadors presenting official credentials to President Jokowi recently.[3]

One last thing, can you also remove North Korea in File:Diplomatic missions of Indonesia.png considering that the Indonesian embassy in Pyongyang closed due to Covid? And if possible also remove Sudan (but idk if it's right) because according to the Wiki page of embassies in Sudan, Indonesia is listed in "Closed due to the 2023 war" smth like that.

Thank you in advance :) Underdwarf58 (talk) 11:50, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
