Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Appealing decisions in deletion requests

Hello Hérisson grognon,

if you think files that were previously kept in deletion requests (like Commons:Deletion requests/File:Cock rings.jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Men's underwear.jpg) should be deleted, don't use speedy deletion. Long-held files aren't speedied on your say so

Hi. If you have issues with long-held files, the please take them through a DR process. It is not right to come and just start labelling images with speedy deletion tags. Commons:Deletion. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:54, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

I would suggest in batch by uploader, that way you can demonstrate your claim of personal photos, and it makes them easier to discuss and manage. Uncurated slabs are just an impediment to discussion and decision. Also to check that they are not in use at a WP as that automatically takes them out of contention.  — billinghurst sDrewth 05:32, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello billinghurst. Sorry for the inconvenience. What are you referring to when you say "long-held files"? What is the conventional minimum length for a file to be considered "long-held"? Don't overwrite existing file with significant crop

Please review the policy on this at Commons:Overwriting existing files. The Commons:CropTool makes it very easy to create a new file page when cropping. There is no point to throwing away the larger version. It makes it impossible to find in most cases, and therefore very much not advisable. Vera ^(talk) 19:17, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
