Hello, Haraldbischoff!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Questions edit

Hello,

I'd have some questions to ask you about the photos you provided : this one states, in its title, that it shows Miou-Miou with Bertrand Blier, yet the description credits the man as "Jean-Pierre Blanc". The guy in the picture could be Bertrand Blier (it does look a little like him), but then again I don't know what Jean-Pierre Blanc looked like. If it is Bertrand Blier, which movie were they making at the time. Was it "Les Valseuses" ?

Then, about these pictures : 1, 2, 3 : the date states "1973", yet the film Miou-Miou and Julien Clerc made together, "D'Amour et d'eau fraîche", was released in 1976 ? Are you sure about the date ? 1975 would be a more likely one...

Again, if the first picture was taken on the set of the same movie (Miou-Miou has the same looks and wears the same clothing), I'd have to assume that the man is Jean-Pierre Blanc, who was the director of "D'Amour et d'eau fraîche".

I'm asking you this because the first picture is actually used on the French wikipedia as a picture taken on the set of "Les Valseuses", which WAS shot in 1973 by Bertrand Blier. If this is a mistake, I'll have to correct it, but I guess I'll need your help. Thanks, JJ Georges (talk) 11:27, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. I found the answer myself, see here : the man is indeed Jean-Pierre Blanc, not Bertrand Blier. JJ Georges (talk) 13:31, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately there is no Freedom of Panorama in Belarus for targets whose architects/ designers are still alive or it is less than 50 years since their death. Thus even excellent photos which violate copyright laws, could be deleted from Commons. Kindly note, however, that citation use might still be allowed. In such a case this (these) photo(s) should be - without delay - saved to and used from national wikipedia (as they are likely to be deleted in Commons). Bitte lesen edit

Also: Ist da noch jemand anders dran?

Also: ich lasses jetzt

Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
