Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.; Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.; Read began by painting scenes on vans in 1979, "a hot item," as he puts it, back then. A Remington scene adorned his own van. He painted scenes on Nashville musicians' touring buses, including Hank Williams, Jr., and moved on to painting full-scale murals throughout the American Southwest.
