by the journey,but for the past year iier health hadbeen gradually failing, and it was evi-dent to herself and family that !ierearthly career would soon end, and sheawaited with Christian resignation thecoming of the great change. Mrs.Preston was a teaclier in the M. E.Sunday School, of Nevada City, an ac-tive and enthusiastic member of theChautauqua Circle of the class of 1889,and was also a member of the Orderof the Eastern Star, which Society willtake part in the funeral services, whichare to be held this afternoon. Mrs.Preston was a lady greatly beloved bya large circle of ac(iuaintances, whoexemplified in her life all the attributesthat grace the duties of a wife, motlierand companion, and in her deaththere will be many to mourn the lossof an exemplary woman, and who willextend a heartfelt sympatliy to a be-reaved husband and son. The age ofdeceased was 41 years 2 jnunths and24 days. The funeral will l.\ke placefrom the family residence at NevadaCity at 2 oclock tliis afternoon.
