I ( This edifice is in a plain, massive style I of architecture, but has a light and pleas-ins: etfect, beinsr constructed of whitegranite, and having the front broken bytwo semi-circular projections, like roundtowers, extending from the ground tothe roof, and affording to the three sto-ries abundant light and commandingviews of the beautiful and extensivescenery spread out around. In this vi-cinity are numerous fine dwellings, theresidences of distinguislied gentlemen—of the princely merchants, the Law-rences and Appletons—of the eminentlawyers, Otis, Choate, and Mason—
