MEDICAL DEPARTM ENT 33 The laboratories are equipped for research work alongdescriptive and experimental lines. Research workers whowill give half or the whole of their day will be welcomedand granted every facility. Gross Anatomy. This subject is taught almost entirely bythe dissection of the human cadaver. Demonstrations uponthe cadaver, models, and prepared dissections are given whennecessary for the purpose of elucidating the more difficultfeatures of the subject as they occur. Dissections of theadult are compared with those of the infant. The work ofthe dissecting room is further augmented by the study ofliving models, the purpose being to familiarize the studentwith the features of the live body as they present themselvesto the eye and to the touch, and thereby effecting a mostessential and practical correlation with the facts gained inthe dissecting room. The body is divided into the follow-ing parts for dissection: I Head and neck. II Thorax. III Abdomen and pelvis. IV Upper e
