He dwelt onthe attractions of heaven as a perpetual summer re-sort, an unbrokenround of pleasures invariety, where sweetstrains of angelicmusic (indicating thewheezy organ), to-gether with unlimitedstores of heavens ownsparkling fire of life,at a franc a bock, andbeautiful orolden-haired cherubs, of laVillettes finest, lentgrace and perfectionto the scheme. The parade then be-gan its tour about theroom, Dante, carrying a staff surmounted by a golden bull, serving asdrum-major. Angel musicians, playing upon sacredlyres and harps, followed in his wake, but the dolor-ous organ made the more noise. Behind the lyreangels came a number of the notables whom Danteimmortalized,—at least, we judged that they were sointended.
