Thereis also a very remarkable collection ofworks on the Baptist controversy, em brac-ing over 2000 volumes and 3000 pamphlets,the gift of Mr. Samuel Agnew, of Phila-delphia. The pamphlets in the library amount to24,600, and include the large and uniquecollection presented by the late Rev. Dr.Sprague. It is a happy circumstance thatfriends of Princeton, such as the lateMessrs. R. L. and A. Stuart, Mrs. R. L.Kennedy, and the executors of the estate ofJohn C. Green, Esq., have provided funds,amounting in all to 838,000, the annualproceeds of which secure the maintenanceand increase of the library. The San Francisco Seminary has a libraryof over 18,000 volumes in Scott LibraryHall. This building is admirably lighted,and presents with its dome and tower animposing appearance. 1898.) The library of Danville Seminary con-tains carefully selected and valuable works,but ihere is absolutely no endowment forthe general library, and some hundreds ofdollars are required at once for the purposeof classifying and indexing the booksaccording to modern methods. Let somefriend of Danville send a check for $500yand thus enable those in charge to make thelibrary for practical purposes more thandoubly valuable. The seminary at Omaha has a library ofabout 2000 volumes, having received valu-able additions recently. This young insti-tution may well claim help in its efforts togreatly increase the facilities which it offersto its students. Money to buy new books isperhaps the matter of most urgent need. Biddle University has a library of about8500 volumes of commentaries and relig-ious and secular literal ure.
