Notes
  • Significance: Building 87 is a contributing element of the Mare Island Historic District. Building 87 is important as the second oldest shop building remaining at Mare Island; it was built in 1858, just two years after Building 46. It is also important for its capacity to convey the manner in which the old shops buildings were adapted to different uses over time, as the shipyard adopted new technologies.
  • Survey number: HABS CA-1543-BF
