To Operate—First pull the starting lever 14 back untilthe resistance of primer is felt. As soon as full volumeof water appears at the overflow, pull starting lever backas far as it will go. Regulate the quantity of water needed by the watervalve. When operating the injector the steam pressureshould be^turned full into the steam pipe, as this governsthe working of the injector. When the steam valve 5 is in priming position,the in-side priming nozzle is seated against the steam nozzle 6;this permits the steam to pass into the priming nozzlethrough the small ports, back of the seat, and to pass outthrough the contracted opening at the point of primingnozzle. As the steam leaves the priming nozzle it passesinto the lifting tube 7; from lifting tube 7 the steampasses into combining tube 8, from which it p
