Notes
  • Significance: One of 4 extant Howe-truss covered bridges in Pennsylvania. It is the longest of these that has not been completely rebuilt. Erected originally to transport cargo from a grist mill, the bridge still carries vehicular traffic through what became McConnell's Mill State Park in 1957. In the late 1950s, a steel support structure was added to the deck and an asphalt covering was tacked onto the roof...
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: N436
  • Survey number: HAER PA-458
  • Building/structure dates: 1875 Initial Construction
  • Building/structure dates: after. 1957- before. 1960 Subsequent Work
