Amongst books on the subject of trimmings the most pretentiousare two portfolios published, one in Dresden, the other in Austria,and both illustrating the taste of twenty or thirty years ago. TheGerman one is entitled Posamenten fur Mobel und Dekorationen,and was published by the Dresden Zeitschrift fur Posamenten-Industrie. The Austrian one was published by S. O. Czeiger.Volume III of Emanuel Bochers Manuel des travaux a laiguilleis devoted to tassels (glands); and Volume IV to cords, braids andknots (cordes, tresses, noeuds), with detailed description and illustra-tions of how to make them.
