Vasari is wrong in statingthat he was a nephew of Taddeo Bartoli. In theBerlin Gallery there is by him a Madonna with theInfant Jesus, who is represented as reaching aftera book which is in the Virgins hand. DONNE, W., a Dutch engraver, flourished aboutthe year 1680. Among other prints, he engraveda plate representing Venus and Cupid, in a land-scape, with other figures in the distance, after A.Elsheimer. It is etched in a slight, poor style. DONNEKER. DONNINI, GiuoLAMO, was born at Correggio in1681, and studied first at Modena under FrancescoStringa, afterwards under Giovanni Giuseppe dalSole at Bologna, and ultimately at Forli, underCarlo Cignani.
