Railroad communication withTampico by way of the station at Valles is quick, and rates, regu-lated by government, are low. The location and the facilities fortransportation are unsurpassed in Mexico. This section is rapidlycoming to the front, and is well worthy the careful investigationof any one who wishes to make a venture in Mexico. No othersection in any part of the country presents so complete a combi-nation of advantages to the investor: healthy climate, regularrainfall, plenty of reliable and cheap labor, rich land, a greatvariety of crops and low rates of transportation. Here sugar-cane is perennial, and goes to seed. Ginger is plentiful in themountains, as are also lemons, limes, sweet oranges and sarsapa-rilla. Corn and Para grass flourish here, and the guyaba growswild in the forests. This is the famous Huasteca Potosina sec- 24
