Notes
  • Significance: The Eastern Columbia Building represents the largest remaining example of a brilliantly clad (turquoise and gold) terracotta office tower still remaining in Los Angeles. The Building presents the characteristic set-back form of volumes with the surfaces emphasizing the vertical through the pattern of unbroken piers and recessed spandrels. The building terminates in a square tower which bears four clock faces and the name "Eastern," and the suggestion of a centrally placed system of flying buttresses.
  • Survey number: HABS CA-2025
