A peculiarspecies and genus of ducks, Nesonctta aucJdcmdica, is also foundhere, and as far as yet known, nowhere else. A species ofthe northern genus Merym is also found on these islands, and hasbeen recently obtained by Baron von Hiigel. Plate XIII.
