We caught it in time for the returntrip, however, and also had time for anexcursion to the bakery. Brown, un-shaven, with worn and torn raiment, anda cheerful appreciation of bakers bread,we took our places in the fresh and newpassenger coach which awaited us. Kis-simmee City and the South Florida Rail-road seemed to us the heart of civilization. We met friends that told us that the oth-ers of our party had returned home aftera delightful sojourn; they had lived onsuch luxuries as poached eggs, fish chow-ders, cake, and bakers bread from Kissim-mee City. We, the more adventurousfour, were content; we had subsisted oncorn bread and coffee for the most part—and veiiisoii, of course. We did notdisclose the fact that the deers horns wehad brought home w^ere purchased fromthe Seminoles.
