uperior of the Sisters of Charity, intimating,for reasons therein stated, that it is his intention to recall the Sistersnow in the Almshouse, as soon as the Board shall have had timeto supply their places, and Whereas, It is proper that some testimony should be borneto the zeal, fidelity and disinterestedness which these amiablephilanthropists have exhibited ; therefore, Resolved^ That this body entertain a deep, lasting and grate-ful sense of the generous devotedness, the sincere and Christiankindness, and the pure and unworldly benevolence which haveprompted and sustained the Sisters of Charity attached to thisinstitution during the trying period of pestilence and death, andafterwards in the midst of constant suffering and disease. Resolved^ That the invaluable services of these amiablewomen have been productive of lasting benefits to this institution,in the admirable and energetic measures which they have intro-duced for the relief and comfort of the sick and afflicted, and entitle

Resolved^ That this body, in parting from the Sisters ofCharity, regret that the rules and habits of the order, to whichthe Sisters belong, do not admit the acceptance of any reward,as it woulH give them pleasure to bestow such a testimonial asmight serve partially to express the grateful feelings which theyentertain. Resolved^ That in permanent testimony of our feelings inthis regard, the above resolutions be recorded in the minutes of theBoard. On May 27, 1833, the following replies to inquiries proposedby the Committee of Conference to the Building Commissionerswere read: ist Query—The two buildings, in all probability, will beready to receive the paupers by the ist of October.
